Los Angeles-based producer Ivy Duoduo Yang, originally from China, a graduate of the University of Southern California with a master's degree in Communication Management, has made significant waves in the film industry with her distinctive storytelling and commitment to highlighting the experiences of women, minorities, and underrepresented groups.

Ivy’s short film Yokelan 66, created as part of the Vogue Women Director Program, won Best Narrative Short at the UrbanWorld Film Festival, along with the Warner Bros. Discovery Prize. It was also recognized with a Special Jury Mention at the AFI Film Festival and was selected by seven Oscar-qualifying film festivals.

She also co-produced the indie feature We Are Living Things, starring Jorge Antonio Guerrero and Xingchen Lv. The film won 14 international awards, including honors from the Deauville Film Festival, Tokyo Film Awards, and Los Angeles Film Awards.

Her upcoming feature Not That Rich, adapted from the book of the same name, explores immigration and identity through the eyes of a Chinese American girl growing up in the U.S.

With a decade of experience in Film and TV industry, Ivy has been Invited to serve as a judge for the Young Director Award in France in 2023, and the LACFF Screenwriting Competition in U.S. in 2021. She has also contributed to commercially successful projects in the Mandarin-speaking world. Among her notable productions are Somewhere Winter, The Brightest Star in the Sky and Negotiator, all of which have enjoyed success on China’s national networks and in theaters.

As co-founder of Melt Pictures, she produced commercials for major brands like Alibaba, NetEase Games, ByteDance, vivo, and more, blending storytelling with a sharp commercial eye.

She’s currently creative producing bite-sized drama for ReelShort, where she’s focused on telling fast-paced, engaging stories made for the next generation of viewers.
